Looks like the odds are increasing that we see severe storms in our area this evening and into the overnight here in Champaign-Urbana. We'll see weak showers/storms continue to move across central Illinois this morning and into the lunch hour. We'll then see a dry period this afternoon with perhaps even some sunshine returning - while stronger storms erupt in Iowa. This second round of storms in Iowa should quickly organize into one or two bows/lines that will rapidly move east/southeast into central Illinois this evening. The main threat with these storms will be damaging winds, but large hail/lightning/flooding rains will also be possible with the strongest storms. The most likely time frame for severe weather in Champaign-Urbana will be between 6 PM and 3 AM, late this evening and into the overnight hours.
