Potential Weekend Snow

Current forecast guidance is hinting at the potential for a winter storm, and accumulating snow across central Illinois over the weekend. There is plenty of time between now and Saturday for the forecast to morph and shift, but things do seem to be coming into line with an area of low pressure developing and moving east along the Ohio River on Saturday. The storm system will have ample access to moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, with a large area of snow developing and moving into central Illinois perhaps late in the evening on Saturday and lasting into the day on Sunday.

It is too early to begin talking about accumulations as these seem to be varying from run to run, but it does seem to have the *potential* to be a 4"+ event.
