Arctic express continues!

Take a look at this loop from the morning run of the GFS long range forecast model. It shows the current weather pattern continuing through the end of February with the eastern half of the US (central Illinois included) locked into a very cold weather pattern, with lobe after lobe of cold arctic air rotating down out of Canada. Spring certainly won't be early this year.
